Why I Started Beachbody

In case you haven’t realized it yet, I am a Beachbody customer and lover. I use their products and do the exercises. I am fully invested into this company and what they have done for me. Now, why?
As you know from my previous post, I struggle with weight. I have struggled my whole life. I’ve tried many, many products from juice fasting to pills to restrictive diets. I’ve worked out hard and worked out less. I’ve struggled.

But the problem has never been knowing how to lose weight. That’s easy. Eat less, exercise more. Create a deficit. You know. All that good stuff. The problem has been consistency. Anybody can workout for a day. You can even commit to a week. But what happens in that week? What happens after that week? For me, nothing. I realized that I need structure. Structure in a workout and structure in a food plan. But the structure I need needs to have room to give. I know I’m going to “cheat”. That’s a given in my world — haha. I know that I’m going to slip up occassionally. I needed a way to be able to get back on track when these slip-ups happened. That’s why I think I love Beachbody so much.

Fitness and weightloss. BeachbodyMy first Beachbody product was 21 Day Fix. It was appealing to me because it was only 21 days. This number is short enough to commit to but long enough to create a habit. I won’t lie, this workout isn’t easy. The first time I tried it I couldn’t get past the warm up. I waited a week and then attempted it again. I made myself finish it. I told myself that I needed to at least attempt every exercise. I might not be able to finish each set but I did every one of them. I did every workout for the full 21 days. I lost 12 lbs, 6 inches from my waist, and more inches from my legs, thighs, and arms. I made these huge improvements and I didn’t even follow the meal plan like I was supposed to. Can you imagine what my results would have been had I followed the meal plan the entire 21 days? That’s what I mean by I need something that has room to give. I had great results even though I didn’t follow it to a T. The greatest thing I achieved from these workouts was knowing that I could finish them. That sense of accomplishment means more to me than you could ever imagine. Everyday, I amazed myself. I couldn’t believe I was doing pushups and burpees and yoga and pilates and planks!! I couldn’t believe that my body, my 250+ lb body was doing these things. Yes. I did it.

I also developed a love for Shakeology. I know, I know. I sound like a spokesperson for Beachbody — hahaha!! But really, this stuff is like gold to me. I love that I get to have this treat every single day. It’s like milkshake — which I love — but it’s good for me!! My absolute favorite is vanilla with some peanut butter and almond milk added. I crave this stuff and it’s so full of good stuff for me. I bribe myself to workout by only allowing myself to have one AFTER my workout. Whatever works right? But I love it. I love that I’m healthier now than I’ve ever been. I love that my blood pressure is normal and that my mood has improved. I love that I can go up a flight of stairs with joy instead of dread. I love that I look forward to trying new things. I’m about to start P90. It’s new and it’s great for those who aren’t quite ready for P90X or Insanity. If you want to join me then feel free to contact me. Get your pack and let’s do this together. If you want to do 21 Day Fix then feel free to contact me for help.

I love what I am becoming.

Love always, Monica
